New York - It is now official the United Federation of K9 Handlers have officially merged with the United Federation LEOS-PBA Law Enforcement Officers Security & Police Benevolent Association. This new merger is just one of many adding to the power and strength we already have. Back in March the United Federation of Special Police & Security Officers (UFSPSO), the National Union of Special Police Officers (NUSPO), Law Enforcement Officers Security & Police Benevolent Association LEOS-PBA and its affiliated Unions including the National Union of Nuclear Security Officers NUNSO all came together to form the United Federation LEOS-PBA.
Now with the United Federation of K9 Handlers merging with the United Federation LEOS-PBA, "we now not only become stronger but we now have added a specialized Union that represents K9 handlers". noted Charles "Chip" Strebeck, President United Federation of LEOS-PBA.
Back in 2018 the United Federation of K9 Handlers headed by its President Bill Beaury had filed unfair labor charges with the National Labor Relations Board NLRB against Michael Stapleton Associates, LTD d/b/a MSA Security for unilaterally changing terms and conditions of the 500 plus MSA K9 security handlers from across the country which to date amounted in almost 5 million dollars in lost stipend pay. The NLRB has issued a complaint in the case and the United Federation of K9 Handlers is now waiting for the NLRB to set a trial date.
MSA has more than 1,300 employees, rigorously selected from a diverse range of highly elite specialties. MSA team members come from the ranks of the military, law enforcement, counterterrorism units, corporate security, as well as the public and private sector.
Bill Beaury President of United Federation of K9 Handlers center (r) meets with some of the United Federation LEOS-PBA Executive Board members to finalize the merger agreement between the two Unions.
