April 1, 2025 - We are happy to announce that the Protective Service Officers PSO's working at federal buildings throughout the State of South Carolina working for Bradley Technologies, Inc., BTI and American Eagle Protective Services AEPS will now be receiving the highest wage increases ever after our Union United Federation LEOS-PBA had successfully negotiated a $3.45 cent raise / increase which will now go into their hourly wages which will now bring them up to $28.05 per hour.
Before our Union United Federation LEOS-PBA took over the contract from a previous Union SPiT-FA these South Carolina PSO's were only getting between $0.50 cents to $0.65 cents per hour noted Charles Chip Strebeck President of the United Federation LEOS-PBA
"The best raises we have gotten was with them (United Federation LEOS-PBA) so far, most of the time I have been here it was 50-65 cents every year which is 2 -3% one year it was 1.5 % noted South Carolina PSO Steven Hauser.
Prior to sealing this deal both Bradley Technologies, Inc., and American Eagle Protective Services took the position that all they were offering these South Carolina PSO's was a $1.20 an hour. As a matter of fact they refused to negotiate with the Union and offered its last best final offer on March 18th 2025 after only one bargaining session. See email below:
Attached please find BTI’s last best final offer for the FPS South Carolina Wage Reopener. Please acknowledge acceptance of the terms by signing and returning the attached MOU to me by Thursday, March 20 @ 1:00pm. If we do not receive a response by Thursday, March 20 @ 1:00pm BTI intends to implement the attached terms to meet the submission deadline for the contract and to ensure that the officers receive their pay increases. Best regards, JBC
Despite both Bradley Technologies, Inc., and American Eagle Protective Services threats to implement if the Union failed to adhere to the companies' threats our Union and bargaining committee stayed united and strong by NOT accepting the companies last best final offer. In response to these threats, we told the company that they should get ready for a STRIKE not only in South Carolina but the state of Alabama where we represent close to 300 PSO's across the state. Based on this position the company blinked and suddenly had a charge of heart on their position. In the end our Union was successful in negotiating a $3.45 cent raise vs accepting the companies last best final offer of $1.20 an hour. We wish to thank South Carolina PSO Tom Cave who was part of the bargaining committee for standing strong and communicating with the members throughout these difficult negotiations. Our Union now has several unfair labor charges filed against Bradley Technologies, Inc for their bad faith bargaining with the NLRB..
