Surry Nuclear Set to Vote for National Union of Nuclear Security Officers NUNSO

Surry Nuclear security officers are now in the process of voting for the National Union of Nuclear Security Officers NUNSO, United Federation LEOS-PBA. On January 24th 2022 the National Labor Relations Board NLRB sent out mail ballots to all eligible voters who will now decide to become members of the National Union of Nuclear Security Officers NUNSO, United Federation LEOS-PBA or remain non-union.
Originally the parties agreed to hold a manual NLRB election to be held on January 24th and 25th, however after several Surry Nuclear security officers raised some COVID-19 safety concerns the National Labor Relations Board NLRB decided to conduct a mail ballot election instead.
Pursuant to the stipulated election agreement in the above case which I approved on December 30, 2021, it was agreed that the election in this matter would be conducted in-person as long as pandemic conditions permit. The stipulated election agreement further provided that if I determined, after consultation with the parties, that it is unsafe to conduct a manual election on the scheduled date, I may reschedule the date, time, place of the election and/or manner of election, including converting the election to a mail ballot. As you were recently informed, I determined, after consultation with the parties, that it is unsafe to conduct a manual election on the scheduled dates (January 24 and 25, 2022), and I am converting the election to a mail ballot.
METHOD AND DATE OF ELECTION
The election will be conducted by United States mail. The mail ballots will be mailed to employees employed in the appropriate collective-bargaining unit. At 3:00 p.m. on Monday, January 24, 2022, ballots will be mailed to voters from the National Labor Relations Board, Region 05, Bank of America Center, Tower II, 100 S. Charles Street, Suite 600, Baltimore, MD 21201. Voters must sign the outside of the envelope in which the ballot is returned. Any ballot received in an envelope that is not signed will be automatically void.
Those employees who believe that they are eligible to vote and did not receive a ballot in the mail by Monday, January 31, 2022, should communicate immediately with the National Labor Relations Board by either calling the Baltimore Regional Office at (410) 962-2822 or our national toll-free line at 1-844- 762-NLRB (1-844- 762-6572).
All ballots will be commingled and counted at the Baltimore Regional Office on Monday, February 14, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. In order to be valid and counted, the returned ballots must be received in the Baltimore Regional Office prior to the counting of the ballots.

Surry Power Station is a nuclear power plant located in Surry County in southeastern Virginia, in the South Atlantic United States. The power station lies on an 840-acre site adjacent to the James River across from Jamestown, slightly upriver from Smithfield and Newport News
