The new year 2025 just started and the United Federation LEOS-PBA organizing department is already on a roll with two victories already and another to go.
The first victory includes winning the NLRB election to represent the protective service officers PSO's performing guard duties as defined in section 9(b)(3) of the National Labor Relations Act, employed by the Employer at federal buildings in and around the cities of Alpena, Cadillac, Petoskey, Traverse City, West Branch, Flint, Bay city, Big Rapids, Ludington, Mount Pleasant, Owosso, Saginaw, Escanaba, Houghton, Ironwood, Marquette, Sault Ste Marie, Grand Rapids, Holland, Muskegon and any and all other cities in the State of Michigan pursuant to the Employer's contract with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security., ("Contract No. 70RFP419DE5000004) currently employed by Triple Canopy, Inc a Constellis company.
This group was formerly represented by the United Government Security Officers of America. UGSOA who abandoned these Triple Canopy Michigan PSO's.
The second victory includes winning our IPS Security, Jamica Queens, New York NLRB election on January 16th, 2025. This unit included all full-time and regular part-time Security Officers, Fire Safety Officer (s) / Director performing guard duties as defined in Section 9(B)(3) of the National Labor Relations Act, working for the Employer at its Jamaica, NY address. These NY officers voted unanimously to join our United Federation LEOS-PBA Law Enforcement Officers Security & Police Benevolent Association family.
On Tuesday January 21, 2025, the 60 full-time and regular part-time armed facility guards employed by the Employer Centerra a Constellis company at the U.S. Customs and Border Protection operations currently located in San Diego, CA 92154 will have an opportunity to join our United Federation LEOS-PBA family when the NLRB begins to send out its ballots to these Centerra armed facility guards. Based on our majority showing of interest we expect this to be a blowout election in favor of the United Federation LEOS-PBA Law Enforcement Officers Security & Police Benevolent Association noted United Federation LEOS-PBA Organizing Director Steve Maritas.
